Following the Lead-a Lesson in Control

Who has been the leader in your life? Have you always held the reins, never yielding to allow another to take the lead?
As a single mom for 17 years, it has been up to me to keep things together and I am not going to make it appear all rosy. It was a really difficult, though a rewarding role, trying to control and navigate life for myself and my children. Now with my youngest son just finished his second year of college, I am ready to let someone else take the lead. At least for some of my life.
I have been taking ballroom dance lessons for 3 months at the time of this writing, this is were the insight was born. For many years I have resisted allowing anyone to be a leader in my life, in fear that something would go wrong. Ballroom dancing is teaching me by following even if it is wrong, might not be all that bad! I am having a "Ball", sorry for the pun.
I would have never taken ballroom dancing or any kind of formal dance lessons if it weren't for my best friend wanting to be able to dance with my son, who is on the ballroom dance team at college, at her daughters up and coming wedding. She has a difficult time seeing at night when she is able to go to class, that got me to take lessons. I have always resisted any type of "organized dance" even line dancing. Now I realize control is the reason. I was afraid of not being in control, afraid of making mistakes. What I am finding is it is ok to make mistakes and to just go with the flow, following your dance partner lead. Even if it is wrong! In ballroom if you follow the lead, you can make even mistakes look seamless.
Is there such a thing as doing things right? Or making mistakes? Who is the one who has the authority to say?
We all have to make choices in our lives, that is just part of being human. How and why we make those choices is important. Even more important is how we respond after those choices have been made.
Have you been living half a life? Afraid of making the wrong choice? Walking the path of what you think is surety and safety? Or have you walked the path of danger and living on the edge? I myself have been on both paths, though not consciously until now. Thinking I was in control. My oldest son during his teenage years, clearly proved my theory to be wrong. He was a great teacher for me, both my children have been.
The "status quo" of raising my children the way I was raised was challenged and thank goodness changed, though I am afraid not before the relationship with my oldest son was destroyed. I thought I was doing "things" right. Parenting the way I was Parented, which just didn't work with him, but it was what I knew. It wasn't until I took a parenting class that my knowing changed! That was the best thing I could have ever done! I began to realize I wasn't in control of my son's life, it was just for me to try to guide him.
So, as I write this I am thinking about dancing last Saturday night with my new partner for the first time(whom I didn't know could dance). He surprised me! At first I resisted, than I said to myself and him, you guide me and I will follow your lead....it was a lot of fun!

Giving away your Power to Psychics or Any "Authority" outside or your Inner Knowing

Many years ago, before I myself became "educated" on the responsibility we have to ourself when we are seeking guidance from an outside source, I gave my power away.
The first time was when I was growing up. I was told by 2 of my family members that the world was going to end in the year 2000, because Nostradamus predicted it and he was always right. It was drilled into me as the truth and I lived in fear until 2000 arrived. I lived thinking what's the point? Well when 2000 came and went I was relieved. Of course then there was 2012.....
The second time I can remember giving my power away to an "outside" source was after I was married for a few years and my former husband was a terrible alcoholic and I felt alone and confused. My aunt had been seeing a card reader and told me to go to her, so I did. This was long before I embraced my own gifts and learned about healthy guidance! I went to this woman once a week for months and months. At the time, I thought it was ok because many people go to a counselor once of week for years.  What I didn't know than, that I learned because of this experience was, I was allowing this person to manage the small details of my life. I also than learned that not all psychic, intuitive, card readers or psycho therapists/counselors are good! I took everything this women said literally and to the letter! I made choices I wouldn't have made otherwise. Which brings me to the point of the responsibility we have to ourselves, when seeking any sort of outside guidance.
If it doesn't feel right for you....it probably isn't!! Like the time I was seeing a marriage counselor who thought I needed to have a lesbian relationship(which may or may not have been right for someone else, though not in the current state of mind) in his office with someone he knew and that would fix my marriage problems.... I didn't know what to think at the time, my marriage was awful, I had gotten into a terrible accident and had PTSD from that and now had this to deal with. I almost "took the bridge". Thankfully while sitting on the floor of my than, second floor deck looking at the bridge, I heard a voice in my head that said, it isn't you that is so mixed up, it's the counselor, call someone in charge there. Thank goodness I listened and got the help I needed!
We have all the answers with in us, though sometimes we need confirmation of what we already know or perhaps we don't know how to tap into that those answers. This is when positive outside help can be effective and even life saving.
For me this "life saving" guidance happened again just 4 years ago, after a terrible break up that sent me to the brink of despair. Thank God, I stumbled upon Colette Baron-Reid on the Hay House. Her guidance and insights were priceless. It was Colette who taught me about not giving my power away and I am grateful for it today.
Being "Psychic" brings a lot of responsibility. It brings moral obligation to do the right thing, for yourself and your clients. And your clients also have a responsibility.
One of those responsibilities is to be firm in not "Micro-managing" your clients daily lives. It is not healthy for either one of you and the Psychic actually takes on part of the clients Karma by doing so. This means your read NO ONE more than Twice a year! The only time I make an exception is if something very tragic has happened in the clients life and the exceptions are rare. I also feel it is part of my responsibility to teach people to embrace their own power and not give it away to anyone.
As Colette reminded me often when I would say to her she saved my life, she would say, you saved your own life honey, don't give your power away. And she is right!
I had given my power away in the past, I do no longer. If you seek outside guidance, be sure it feels right and that it is ethical and morally correct. You will thank yourself for it down the road.
Peace and Blessings
Cynthia

Living Life into 2013 with Integrity : Who Are you Really?

Living Life into 2013 with Integrity : Who Are you Really?: So, some of you know I have been channeled a theme to explore with you this year. Living in integrity. For those of you new to my work, Wel...

Living and Buying in Integrity

Welcome to 2013!

As we are all now breathing a little easier with 2012 behind us, I say thank goodness.
This year I am being guided to focus on Integrity and all aspects of it in our lives. I believe this will help us all catapult our lives into a higher vibration along with raising the vibration of the planet.
Today, something very interesting yet at the same time concerning has been brought to my attention. Most of us in the United States at one time or another has been to the mall, some of you in other countries may also relate to this experience, when in the mall having been approached by sales people in the middle of the mall at the kiosks, selling there wares. Often times these are beauty products. I myself have had this experience. One of my students brought her experience to my attention, which just happened this past weekend.
While waiting for her daughter to come out of one of the stores, she and her youngest daughter, were observing a sales person from one of these "beauty" kiosks approach people with samples. People were walking away making faces and she felt bad for the woman, so she went to the booth and as the sales person approached her, she soon discovered why people were walking away making faces.
The sales woman immediately telling my student how awful and "flappy" her cheeks were, not to mention the dark circles under her eyes, then proceeded to say, how could a man be married to such an ugly woman! My friends daughter was appalled and my friend shocked, especially because the woman kept repeating it over and over. Well my friend grabbed her daughter and left in a hurry. After returning home she decided to do some research on these "Beauty" kiosks and what she found was surprising and alarming at the same time.
My own experience last year, prompted much of my own research into the contents of these beauty products we are sold, to improve our looks. My research took me to a different area, which focused on the toxins, cancer causing ingredients and neuro-transmitter disruptors in most of the beauty products we buy. That is for another blog.
My student took to facebook to ask people about their experience and found dozens of friends making the same complaints, which led her to research the companies behind these products and kiosks. That brings me to the topic of Living and Buying in Integrity.

Welcome to 2013

Ah....the world has given a collective sigh, that 2012 is finally behind us. It seems 2012 lasted for 25 years! Before we go forward into 2013, I would just like to acknowledge all the experiences in 2012 that pushed us all into our hearts and into growth.
Now as we move into the energy of the new era, the Aquarian Age, the age of the Feminine, we go in with more love and compassion for others in the world we may not personally know and those who we do know.
I am being guided this year to bring forth messages of being in the heart space and being in Integrity. Living all aspects of your life with and in Integrity.
That starts with the smallest of things, such as knowing the clerk at the store has given you too much change. How do you choose to react? Do you keep it? Or give it back? What if you choose to keep it and that clerk's mother had just died and she had made 3 or 4 errors with change recently while her mother had been sick leading to her death and yours was the final straw. She was fired. Oh and a couple of days later your car breaks down and your repair bill is 387 dollars....Hum....now how do you choose?
Our each and every choice not only effects ourself but all of humanity. This year we will see much instant manifestation. We have been preparing for this time for decades and now some may be caught by surprise when, both positive and negative things manifest very quickly. So, what is it you want to see manifest in your life NOW?
Of course, we may never see some of the effects of our choices and how they effect others, but we will feel and see effects in our life because of the instant Karma.

Who Are you Really?

So, some of you know I have been channeled a theme to explore with you this year.
Living in integrity. For those of you new to my work, Welcome. I hope you will find something to raise your spirit, your awareness and something to help you on your journey.
Often I find messages just pop into my head from a hearing or seeing a simple word or phrase.  That was case today. That phrase today was a quote from the Wonderful Walt Disney~"If you can dream it, you can do it". WOW! That takes courage, doesn't it?
If you had the chance to live your dreams, to be who you are really, would you? Do you know who you are really?
So many of us experienced childhoods that weren't lets say the most positive, encouraging or supported by the adults around us. For some they were able to take those experiences at a fairly young age and turn it into something positive. Wayne Dyer is a great example of this, having been kicked around foster homes, he didn't let that stop him. In fact he used it to propel him. Others are still stuck in that experience.
If you were told you could be anything you wanted to be growing up, who would you be now? That true self is still inside of you. Though at 48 I don't think I will ever realize my dream of being an Olympic Gymnast or Figure Skater, but I realize now, it is that spirit I still carry inside. For me when I was skating or on the mat, I was in another world. That feeling was one of safety and wholeness. I experienced that same feeling when I was helping others, growing up. Sometimes that would be collecting for UNICF instead of trick or treating, or bottle feeding some same animal on my grandparents farm. At the time, I had no idea, I was in an altered state when on the floating across the ice or raising money for some cause. Perhaps, that is exactly what I was looking for. My higher self, unknowingly until these words are appearing on this page! Was that who I am really? While floating across the ice? A soul without boundaries. Boundaries set by others or inflicted by myself. Hum....
I believe I have found myself!!
Now the trick while living on this 3rd dimensional planet, is how do you live, breathe and share with others who you really are? What is your true nature? What inspires you? When you can answer these questions you will find that divine essence of who you really are.
Some of us take longer to shake off all the energetic "dirt" that was thrown at us, than others. No matter where you are in your life, at any moment, no matter your current circumstances, you can choose to be who you really are. If you don't know where to start, ask yourself the simple question "What inspires me". There is no time limit to answer the question, however the sooner you ask and the sooner you quite your mind, to allow that inner spark to shine through once again, the sooner you will be on your way to living a fulfilling life. That is part of what being in integrity is all about and living authentically in who you really are.
Now is the time to believe once again that the " A Dream is a wish your Heart makes" (Cinderella) and dreams do come true. When you follow your heart, it will lead you to who you really are.  The world is waiting for your divine contribution, as only you can give and be.
Are you ready to be the real you?
I am!
May your heart be guided with Love and Divine Blessings to be who you really are,
Cynthia Fontaine
